Trainer’s Bio

Bharti Verma

Bharti Verma is a family physician and senior teacher with Art of Living and Sri Sri Yoga. She is also a teacher trainer with Sri Sri Yoga. She has over 20 years of teaching experience with Art of Living and is currently the Vice President of Art of Living Foundation of Canada. She is an extremely dynamic yoga teacher who inspires her students to take on more and more responsibility in the community. Learning Yoga from Bharti is an experience you do not want to miss.

Alan Giacalone

Practicing Yoga since 2004 Alan Giacalone discovered and became enamored with the Art of Living foundation in 2008 and quickly became trained and certified as a Sri Sri Yoga, YES! and Art Excel teacher by the end of 2009.

Growing up in Calgary, Alberta,  Alan has been a high level athlete his whole life, involved heavily in track and field, rugby, wrestling, soccer and especially American football.  Alan was featured in Sports Illustrated “Faces in the crowd” coming out of high school for his performance in the national high school football championship tournament: The Canada cup.   Alan was an All Conference, All Canadian running back with the Jr. Football Calgary Colts, recognized nationally with the inaugural Wally Buono award for football excellence.  Alan was also a standout running back with the Saint Mary’s University Huskies gaining team offensive  MVP and All conference honors.  Alan continues to be involved with football coaching several youth teams in both tackle and non-tackle football.

For the past 2 years Alan has worked with disadvantaged youth and children with the Boys and Girls Club of Canada as program coordinator.  Alan also works as a certified personal trainer at Slim Gyms and has recently ventured out on his own opening up a sports specific gym for youth in the Halifax area.

Alan continues to be inspired by the values of The Art of Living Foundation and continues to teach AOL courses, empower youth, and tread the path of knowledge and Yoga.

 

Helen Fong

Helen Fong is a Certified Hatha Yoga Teacher and Dalhousie University Alumnus. She has been practicing yoga for 14 years, and earned an internationally recognized 200-hour Yoga Teacher-Training certification in May 2006.  Helen has co-lead and participated in 108 Sun Salutation events in the past and is excited to lead her inaugural Yogathon Canada 108 Sun Salutation Challenge in her hometown. She regularly collaborates with like-minded wellness practitioners in a variety of industries while giving back to her community. Taking yoga off the mat as much as possible is her true passion and path. Helen enjoys gardening and watching live comedy.

 

Angeline Reyes-Giacalone

Angeline Reyes-Giacalone has been practicing yoga since she was 5 years old. She credits her extensive training and self-development to the Art of Living Foundation and has been actively volunteering with the Foundation since 2003.

In 2010 Angeline became a certified Sri Sri Yoga teacher with the Art of Living and has been teaching yoga ever since. She hopes to one day own her own yoga studio. Her teaching style is fun and dynamic.  She aims to empower her students in her classes and has a special gift for teaching women and children.
